Dr. Rebekka Koeck

Rebekka Koeck has been working at the Department of Medical Microbiology, Infectious Diseases and Infection Prevention (MMI) since 2024 as a bioinformatician and data scientist. She primarily works with diagnostics data, including the extraction and analysis of patient sample data from the laboratory information system (LIS) and the development and maintenance of bioinformatic pipelines for sequencing data analysis. She also supports researchers working with these data types.

Over
Rebekka Koeck studied Medicine at Brighton and Sussex Medical School (Brighton, England), including an integrated research Master's in Maternal and Fetal Health (Manchester, England). After 18 months of clinical work as a doctor, she chose to pursue a PhD in reproductive genetics (Maastricht, The Netherlands), during which she developed a broad skill set in bioinformatics and data science.
